Tathagata attained enlightenment at Yonwha Island in Korea when he was 42. The motive for attaining enlightenment was that he doubted his own life and was tracing who he was. Finally, he heard ‘go into the world of before birth’ from his mind. As a result of making it to the world of before birth, he found out who he was, and at that time he met himself free from karma. Furthermore, he opened his eyes about what sort of result comes into existence owing to what sort of cause exists.

He was very delighted after he was enlightened and recognised things of the world because of the way of good and ill luck, and fortune and misfortune was in existent thing. In other words, everybody is able to have a good life and perform an act of blessing, if they recognise existent thing correctly. Therefore, he left the Island with a big expectation that he would be able to contribute to people around him.

However, when he came back home a little while after he was enlightened, strange things began to happen. All the people who listened to him once ran away. His friends and neighbours were alienated, people he knew turned their face, and relatives didn’t visit his house. However much he explained things of the world wandering and visiting people it was useless. People who listened to his words once turned aside from his words.

He wandered about seeking people who would listen to his words and met a person who became his disciple 3 years after he got enlightened. Since then he has been preching regularly. The contents of this section are from the meetings except selected poems which were written in 1988.
